About us

We started in 2012 as a new choir, with a very mixed ability membership, under the direction of Denise Baugh, our Musical Director. Our aim, from those early days, was to form a great team learning to understand musical scores and to sing in harmony. We have now grown musically, and are singing more challenging arrangements from all genres. Our MD, still Denise, and accompanist, Brian Budden, who has been with us since 2014 , are a great team, and our rehearsals are never dull!

Our membership has remained stable over the years, and if you would like to join us, please find details on our membership page.

We have progressed to singing more complex arrangements, sometimes with six or eight parts, we  ask that prospective new members have some experience of singing in harmony, and also some knowledge of how to follow music. An informal meeting and range check with our musical director Denise will be arranged when there is space for them to join.

We pride ourselves in being a sociable and friendly choir, meeting for two hours on Wednesday evenings throughout the year, with two evening socials a year. There are two regular concerts, one in the summer, and one in December, with programmes in both concerts singing an eclectic mix of music, from jazz to musicals, classical to popular music, ballads, theme tunes, some sacred music, and of course Christmas carols and songs in December with audience participation.

Our concerts raise money for local charities, and we would love you to come along. You can find details of forthcoming events and membership on the other pages on this website.
